Update for our Canadian and USA backers (and regions other than UK-EU and AUS-NZ) on shipping for the Waterloo books

We are talking with the Chinese printer about sending some books via air freight to our US warehouse. These books would then be packaged individually and put into the US Postal System.
If you live in Canada, the USA, or other countries outside of the UK-EU and AUS-NZ, we can mail your book and add-ons sooner using this air freight option BUT IT WILL COST AN ADDITIONAL $30 PER BOOK for the extra air freight from China to our US warehouse.
Please contact [email protected] by OCTOBER 3 if you want to pay this extra air freight fee. Dana will contact you for payment before the books are shipped from China.
There is no extra charge if you want to wait for your books which are coming via ocean freight from China to our US warehouse. As soon as the books are delivered to our California warehouse we will repack them individually and ship them via the US Postal Service. This is the shipping fee listed in BackerKit that will be charged to your credit card SOON.
If you do not want to wait, we will refund your Kickstarter payment and you will not be charged by BackerKit for shipping or any add-on items you selected. We will post updates as soon as we have more information on the air freight and ocean freight progress.

The Rocco Waterloo Art Book is Finished!

Our printer recently sent us the photo below that shows the luxury edition leather cover with the gold foil embossing on the front and spine. The standard edition has a cloth (hard cover) with dust jacket. A few finished sample books should arrive in the US soon and we will post photos as soon as we receive them.
The printer reserved space in a container to send the majority of books via ocean freight to the USA, but we don't have the date of departure yet because of the global supply backup due to the pandemic. As we mentioned previously, it might take several months from the port of embarkation to delivery at our California warehouse. An update will be posted ASAP.
NOTE to Kickstarter and BackerKit customers OUTSIDE THE USA –
We arranged to have bulk copies of the books sent via air freight for supporters in New Zealand and Australia and UK/EU to a local address and then put individual copies of the books into the local postal systems. Despite this extra cost, we are not increasing the shipping fees noted in the BackerKit pre-order store for customers outside the USA: https://bit.ly/3oaWxRQ
FASTER DELIVERY OPTION for all backers WITHIN THE USA –
The printer can send bulk copies of the books to our California warehouse via air freight. However, this will cost an additional $30 per book compared to the shipping price currently listed for delivery to a US address. THIS IS OPTIONAL (and is the actual cost of air freight; neither Keith Rocco nor Lombardy Studios make any additional profit if you choose this method of delivery). If your shipping address is in the USA and you want to get your book as soon as possible, please let us know by Friday, October 1. We will charge the extra $30 for air shipping, but only for US customers who ask for FASTER DELIVERY. If you can wait, the shipping cost to a USA address remains $16 per book as shown in BackerKit.

International Shipping Delays – What's Happening?

There is a back up of dozens of container ships off the coast of California (see screenshot from BusinessInsider.com below).
Our US-based print broker MJ Jacobs sent us an update about international shipping and their email is posted below.
We hope this supply chain slow down will be resolved by the time the ship leaves China with the Waterloo art books.
The most recent information we have about the Waterloo art book is that it should be printed and out of the bindery by mid-October. We requested photos that we can post to let everyone know what's happening. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR PATIENCE!
UPDATE ON SHIPPING FROM PRINTER

After reviewing the proofs, we had to replace some paintings with versions that were a bit lighter and showed off more details (see attached example).
The latest information from the printer in China is that the books probably won't ship to our USA warehouse until mid-October, although the printer was hopeful they could be finished sooner.
However, because of the world-wide slow down in shipping, we probably won't receive the books in the USA until sometime in November.
We hope to have an update soon about backers who live outside the USA. We still plan to ship the books from WITHIN the UK, EU, and NZ-AUS. This is requiring more planning and logistics because of the current world-wide disruption in shipping services.
Because we don't have an exact final cost on shipping yet, we asked BackerKit to NOT charge credit cards until we update the shipping costs. This probably won't happen until mid-October.
The books will go on press soon! We hope to show you a scene from inside the printing plant as soon as we can.

Some paintings had to be replaced after we saw the proofs. First proof sample on the right and adjusted (lighter) painting on the left that will appear in the final, printed book.
Color proofs from printer now being reviewed

Here is Keith Rocco in his studio reviewing the color proofs of his WATERLOO art book being published by my Lombardy Studios. We hope the printed books will be delivered to my warehouse in California around the end of August. We will continue to post updates and more sample pages several more times before the books arrive.
